About SEO for Landscaping
What is SEO for Landscaping?
SEO for Landscaping is a search marketing agency that works only with landscape, hardscape, lawn care and outdoor living companies in the United States. It provides Local SEO and AI search optimization, with websites and paid ads, in three monthly packages priced at $1,500, $2,500 and $3,500.
Which trades do you work with?
Landscape design and build, hardscape, lawn care, lawn maintenance, irrigation, outdoor lighting, tree service and commercial landscaping. See how we approach each trade.
Do you work with companies outside the landscaping industry?
No. We chose one industry so that the keyword research, page structures and seasonal planning are specific to outdoor work.
Do you have examples of your work?
Yes. Our published case study is Lubbockscape in Lubbock, Texas, a landscaping website that went from 25 pages with one indexed by Google to a 37-page site with town pages and cost guides. Read the case study.
What will you not do?
We do not guarantee rankings, buy links, write fake reviews or publish copied town pages. Those shortcuts put a client's Google Business Profile and website at risk.
02
SEO for landscapers
How does Google rank landscaping companies in local results?
Google says local results are based mainly on relevance, distance and prominence: how well the business matches the search, how close it is to the searcher, and how well known it is, including reviews and links.
Why is a competitor outranking my landscaping company?
Usually for one of four reasons: they are closer to the searcher, their Google Business Profile category and services match the search better, they have more and newer reviews, or their website has a dedicated page for that service and town. A free SEO review shows which applies.
Do town pages work for landscapers?
Yes, when each page contains facts that are true only for that town: real projects there, local conditions, neighborhoods served and reviews from local customers. Pages that only swap the town name rarely rank.
What is the most important thing a landscaper can do for SEO?
Complete and maintain the Google Business Profile: the right primary category, every service listed, accurate service areas, recent photos and a steady flow of reviews. For most landscapers the profile brings more calls than the website.
Is it worth doing SEO myself?
Often yes, if you have a few hours a week. Our complete guide and free playbook show the steps. Hiring help makes sense when nothing gets published because you are in the field all day.
Does SEO work for seasonal landscaping services?
Yes, with planning. Google needs time to index and rank a page, so seasonal pages should be published two to three months before the season starts.
03
AI search, ChatGPT and AI Overviews
Can a landscaping company appear in ChatGPT, Perplexity or Google AI Overviews?
Yes. These tools name local businesses when asked who to hire. They rely on what they can read and verify: your website, your listings, your reviews and mentions on other sites. No one can guarantee a mention, but clear and consistent information improves the odds.
How do AI assistants choose which businesses to name?
They look for businesses that clearly match the question and that several sources agree on. Service and town pages that state plain facts, a complete Google Business Profile, detailed reviews, and listings on directories and association sites all contribute.
What is the difference between SEO, AEO and GEO?
SEO targets rankings in search results. AEO, answer engine optimization, and GEO, generative engine optimization, both mean being cited or named inside AI-generated answers. The same foundations serve all three.
Does my website need an llms.txt file?
It is optional. It is a simple file that summarizes a site for AI tools. The major AI companies have not confirmed that they rely on it, so we treat it as a low-cost extra and not a ranking factor.
Does Bing matter for AI search?
Yes. Not every assistant relies on Google's index, so we keep Bing Places for Business and Apple Business Connect complete and verify the website in Bing Webmaster Tools.
What should I do first to be found in AI answers?
Make sure your website states plainly who you are, what you do and which towns you serve, answer common customer questions directly on your service pages, and keep your name, phone and services identical on your website, Google profile and listings.

Working with us
How do I get started?
Fill in the free SEO review form. We review your website, your Google Business Profile, your map position and what AI assistants say about you, then tell you what we would fix first and which package fits.
Why do you ask for my revenue and Google Business Profile?
The profile lets us check your map rankings before we reply. Revenue tells us which package is realistic for your company, so we do not recommend more than makes sense. It stays private.
What do you need from me?
Access to your website and Google Business Profile, photos of your finished projects with the town and service, answers to a few questions about each service, and a fast response when leads arrive.
What will I see each month?
A report that leads with calls and estimate requests, then shows map positions across your service area, reviews, the work completed and what is planned next.
Who owns my website, profile and ad accounts?
You do. We work inside them as managers. If you stop working with us, everything stays with you.
